Internetova domena (domenove jmeno)
Internetova domena (domenove jmeno) je jednoznacne jmeno (identifikator) pocitace, pocitacove site, nebo sitoveho zarizeni, ktere jsou pripojene do internetu. Prikladem domenoveho jmena je domenista.com, nebo bbc.co.uk.
Prisne vzato (jak mi tady uz nekdo anonymne napsal) neni domena to same, co domenove jmeno, ale casto se to v tom smyslu pouziva, a to ne jenomv cestine, ale taky v anglictine nebo nemcine. A tak se i na techto strankach bude pouzivat slovo domena ve smyslu domenove jmeno, je to kratsi a beznejsi, i kdyz to neni uplne spravne. Chapejme to proste jako hovorovy (zkraceny) vyraz pro domenove jmeno (domain name). V anglictine taky hodne lidi pouziva zkratku URL misto “domain name”, to je samozrejme jeste vetsi chyba

Vyhodou DNS je, ze si nemusime pamatovat cisla jako 72.14.207.99, (IP cislo) ale misto toho jenom Google.com. Dalsi vyhodou je, ze se IP muze menit podle potreby, ale nazev domeny zustava stejny, takze bezny uzivatel o tom ani nevi.
